Why Barefoot Massage?
Deeper relief, delivered with intention.
In the world of barefoot massage, Sarga Bodywork is uniquely modern in its approach to the body, as it targets the fascial system. It’s specifically designed to offer both powerful relief and calming nervous system support. This isn’t about going harder for the sake of intensity. It’s about working smarter, with techniques that truly meet the needs of your body.
Why use the feet?
The feet are incredibly effective tools for delivering therapeutic massage. With the right training and technique, they can offer more comfort, more depth, and more sustainable pressure than hands ever could.
• Broad, soothing contact. The sole of the foot offers a greater area of contact, which helps muscles truly let go of tension, instead of bracing against the therapist’s touch.
• Deeper pressure, without pain. I can safely use my bodyweight to apply consistent pressure, even to the deepest layers of muscle and fascia, without sharpness or strain.
• Fascial stretch & nervous system reset. Sarga Bodywork is grounded in current science around fascia and the nervous system—supporting real, lasting relief.
Can you feel tension as well with the feet as you do with the hands?
Actually, I can feel MORE! Did you know there are more nerve endings per square centimeter in the foot than any other part of the body? The soles of the feet have an estimated 200,000 nerve endings, while the palms of the hands have about 17,000 touch receptors and free nerve endings. The feet are far more sensitive.
Who benefits from this work?
A variety of people find relief with barefoot massage that they haven’t gotten from traditional hands-on massage. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
• Physically active people needing serious recovery support
• Professionals dealing with chronic desk tension or postural stress
• Anyone looking for a deeply grounding, full-body reset with lasting results
But… feet? Let’s talk about hygiene.
Here’s the truth: my feet are probably cleaner than most people’s hands. And definitely cleaner than the phone you’ve been holding against your face all day. (No judgment, but when was the last time you disinfected that thing?)
Cleanliness is a core part of my practice and a strict requirement in Sarga Bodywork. As both a certified practitioner and an instructor, I follow and teach some of the most rigorous hygiene protocols in the industry:
Feet are washed and sanitized before and after every session
I wear sanitized rubber slides in my workspace
I maintain regular foot care with trimmed nails. exfoliation, and moisturizing
What happens behind the scenes matters just as much as what happens during your session. Your comfort, safety, and peace of mind are part of the care I offer.
Sarga Bodywork combines the ancient art of barefoot massage with the latest fascia science.
This advanced technique goes beyond traditional deep tissue massage. It offers a therapeutic experience that’s not only powerful, but deeply intentional. As a certified practitioner and instructor for Sarga Bodywork, I can confidently say this is massage that’s designed to work, and feel good doing it.
